Askhab M.Askhabov, Dr.Sci. (Geol.&Mineral.), professor, full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1971 he graduated from Dagestan State University, Physical Faculty. Since 2006 - Chairman of the Presidium of the Komi Science Centre, Ural Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences, since 2007 - Director of the Institute of Geology of the Komi Science Centre, Ural Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences.

Scientific interests: mineralogy, crystallography, formation and growth of crystals, nanostructures and nanotechnologies.

The basic scientific and scientific-technical achievements:

He established fundamental regularities of growth and formation of crystals at the stage of regeneration, genesis of endogenic factors of crystals formation, growth evolution of crystals and crystal-forming media. He developed new theoretical models of growth of crystals, interactions of crystals and medium in the process of growth, development of the theory of self-organization and formation of dissipative structures in crystallogeny process.

He created the quataron concept of cluster self-organization of matter at nanolevel, quataron models of nanoparticles formation, nucleation and growth of crystals, formation of non-crystalline materials, genesis of the elementary elements of living matter.

The basic publications:

He has more than 350 scientific works published, including 15 monographs and separate editions.
